Siobhan Dillon
From Hollywood to the UK
After spending five years in Los Angeles, honing her craft in the world of Meditation, Siobhan is now back in the UK and is a fully-trained and highly experienced Mindfulness and Yoga Nidra teacher who has worked with many people from all walks of life.
“Living and teaching in Hollywood was a life-changing experience. Being located in one of the world’s most renowned entertainment playgrounds and having experience in the entertainment industry, I was able to teach actors, singers, musicians and presenters with confidence, which was incredibly rewarding. Then during Covid, like many of us, I moved everything online which meant I was now relaxing ‘on set’ with some pretty awesome personalities. The online movement has grown stronger and stronger which has made reaching more individuals and corporations that much more accessible. I am now sitting in my office in the UK guiding a team of people in Toronto which is crazy! I am incredibly grateful for that.”
Siobhan has made healing her main focus and regularly holds Sound Bath Meditation events as well as private one-to-one Mindfulness sessions both online and in person. Since moving back from LA with her husband Adam and little boy Josiah, Siobhan’s goal is to help facilitate the healing of others through mindfulness techniques, “sleep” meditations and sound baths. The things she did to aid her healing and continues to do for her continued health and daily self-care.
“Helping people manage anxiety is one of my main goals. Calming the nervous system and allowing the body to deeply rest is one of the most overlooked elements of health and healing. During meditation, the brain waves slow down and the body, now in the parasympathetic state can begin to do what it’s designed to do naturally; heal and restore itself- effortlessly. Calming the nervous system and bringing peace to the mind and body”
Siobhan has played on London and Broadway stages in roles such as Sandy in Grease, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Vivienne Kensington in Legally Blonde, Molly in Ghost, Ellen in Miss Saigon and most recently Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard, which was the role she reprised on Broadway just a few years ago. Her most recent TV credit was playing alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as Kayla in Grace and Frankie.
It was because of her experience in this industry that she started developing meditations specifically for performers, such as recordings designed to be listened to in the hour before an anticipated “moment of pressure” to ease anxiety and bring peace before auditions and performances. Siobhan knows first-hand how brutal the industry can be and how that takes its toll on the health and well-being of the body and mind. Siobhan has spoken openly about her struggles with anxiety and self-doubt and has virtually cured herself through the meditations she has practised and subsequently designed and developed.
“Glenn Close was an incredible woman to work with. An absolute powerhouse, in every way.”
The Reason Why
In 2015, aged 30, Siobhan intuitively knew something was wrong with her… she just had “a feeling”… and after repeated doctors visits finally discovered that she had breast cancer. This is a story Siobhan has written about. You can read about her experiences here.
After completing her treatment, dramatically changing her diet and taking radical steps to heal as quickly as she could, meditation and self-love were at the top of her list - perhaps for the first time in her life. Without a daily meditation practice, the healing process would have been much harder. Sure, Siobhan was receiving medical treatment but the medicine she was able to receive from her meditation practice and daily mindfulness techniques was like a comfort blanket, a way to come “home” and a vital reminder that we are more than our bodies - or “meat suits” as she prefers to call them!
This is the driving force for Siobhan. To share with as many people as possible the skills and practices that she used to heal her body and mind so more people can experience peace and healing in the effortless way she did.
